HISTORY OF PHARMACY GUERRERO

The house La Cruz receives the name of La Cruz family. The marriage was formed between Ms. Mercedes Muntades and Mr. Mariano La Cruz who in 1940 asked the famous architect Puig i Cadafalc the construction of this building so unique.

The works were conducted with Mr. Salvador Saludes as foreman and ended in 1942.

It was the end of the works when La Cruz family decided to sell the property to family Ribó and then in a few years was Salvador Guerrero Ubach who decided to buy it together with his wife Anna Maria Ruiz Busquets.

For years now, is located in the house La Cruz an institution in the world of pharmacy in Andorra, GUERRERO Pharmacy. It was in 1943 where Guerrero family, specifically Ms. Pilar Ubach Bastida, mother of Salvador Guerrero Ubach, who opened one of the first pharmacy business are remembered in the principality of Andorra. Throughout his history it has already reached the third generation where Gabriel Guerrero Ruiz is the current owner.

The dedication of Guerrero family around the world of the pharmacy is well known in the Pyrenean country. It is now, where there has been a greater effort to provide better quality service to our patients and customers by opening the GUERRERO2 Pharmacy (the July 28, 2007 ) in the heart of Andorra la Vella, with Carla Guerrero Ruiz as owner. Becoming the third pharmacy of group GUERRERO.

The second pharmacy is named EUROPEA Pharmacy. The owner Monica Sánchez Fores already over 10 years serving patients from the country. This pharmacy enjoys a more than privileged situation in the center of Escaldes-Engordany, at its most commercial avenue.

Josep Puig i Cadafalch (Mataró, 17 October 1867 – Barcelona, 21 December 1956) was a Catalan Spanish Modernist architect who designed many significant buildings in Barcelona. He was the architect of the Casa Martí (also known as "Els Quatre Gats"), which became a place of ideas, projects and social gatherings for such well-known Catalans as Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas.

Although Puig's style separated him significantly from his contemporary Gaudí, their relations were neither tense nor problematic, as demonstrated by the participation of both architects in the construction of the Cafe Torino. Another of his significant buildings was the Casa Terrades (also known as "les Punxes"), which is known for its medieval castle style from the north of Europe. From 1942 to his death in 1956, he was the president of the academic institution of the Catalan language, the Institut d'Estudis Catalans.
